I strongly recommend vacuum acuated bypass valves, with a solenoid open/close switch added to the vacuum line (to close the suck). Electric motors dont last long with bypass butterfly valves. I got thru a few with my old 3L engine conversion.

End result was this, happy days:

Air suspension is the way, so you can have it sitting nice when parked, raise up for speed humps, and a little bit for driving, you might only need to do the front, so its cheaper and less hassle than doing all 4 corners (the rear pigtail spring cups need modifiying). Alex did a great job with his.

Well it's been a while since receiving the car back from Jd but things have been progressing very slowly in the background.

I have had many conversations with Kev (extreme) and ended up ordering a new front suspension because the one I had, was from the original design and required massive spacers. Also whilst removing stuff, I thought what the hell, I'll replace the drive shafts, drop links & tie rod ends.

The next thing i'm considering, is whether to fit air suspension or not? My concern is how low the car is and the everyday speed bumps.

Anybody got any thoughts and advice

Cheers
Tone

Hi, everybody, I have not posted any updates for ages. This is because I have not done anything on the car. This is because of a number of factors, firstly my Mum pasted away suddenly, she lived 120 miles from me, so this meant multiple visits to the midlands and then the complexity of solicitors ,probate wills etc.
Then on a less serious note, severe weather tore down 60 foot of fencing down the side of the house which I had to replace, alone with a water leak into the kitchen . This resulted in me repairing the roof along with fitting new facia boards and guttering. However I did have the chance to buy a Ferrari hand brake lever and have sent the 360 seats I got a while ago to a specialist for cleaning and restoration. With a bit of luck and the wind in the right direction I will be back on the car early in June, after a short interlude for the Le Mans 24.

Can I ask who you are using to restore the seats?

Didn't realise the Extreme murci was built on a Peugeot 406 coupe, thought they were designed for an MR2 base

Ferrari 360 Replica Headlight Buckets

Any interest: Ferrari 360 replica headlight buckets.
Got them with some other parts. A bit dirty, I don't need them. Just the buckets, no glass or plexiglass lenses.

So it sounds like Ferrari did a crackdown on everyone? Where would one but 360 headlights and taillights outside Eurospares?

1/ wheel centrality in arch.

Wonder what it looks like if you lower the front coilovers a bit more, then let it settle for a while

2/ door windows. Mine sometimes have a life of their own (the drivers one).

An options is to disconnect the battery then let the system "learn" again. (worked on my passenger side)

3/ Door locks
Ive had those problems too, its fiddly to sort (and might need new mechamism), door card off, check lingages etc ensuring all moves freely. JD is the guru on this. Took me a couple of weekends messing and a new mechamism to sort mine. Lost count how many tmes I've had the door cards off!

Impressive, also delighted to see its possible to achieve wthout roof mods.
Wonder if its possible without having to take the GRP door skin off.

Looking great there!

I have the same issue as 3. wiper parking, let me know when you get a solution. What front coilovers do you have? I have the gaz  adjustable ones, set 3/4 to stiffest setting and are fine.

1. coolant leakage
2. front suspension is bottoming out and requires a different type - any advice?
3. windscreen wipers not parking correctly
4. tracking is a mile out

there are several cosmetic items that need tidying up but nothing major and definitely something even I can do. lol

Cheers
Tone

Why do you need snap-on tools for the build? there are cheaper ones that work fine, then only buy what you need. Appreciate you're gutted having them stolen, but don't let the thief ruin your plans.
