1  Extreme Kits / Extreme 430 / Re: Chris's build so far on: November 29, 2018, 07:15:26 PM
this guy has been an inspiration,
here's a vid of the 430 exhaust on a crossplane crank v8

well worth getting into his completed build thread
MacGyver is his user name on mad mechanics

A rare breed to behold, a v8 replica, you'll have a bit more power than mine, glad to see you're going to carry on

The activity for this and the DNA site has withered due to the companies not producing kits any more, we are not duty bound to comment on every post you make, people find builds interesting (as I do) and like to read up, to get a real feel for how much interest is in your build take a look at your view count.
My build has a lot of hours vested into it, when I post I don't expect a comment,
You may find that one post gets loads of following posts or questions that you just didn't expect. Take a look at JD's activity, he's probably finished more extremes than extreme did, he's view count is immense yet the replies to his posts were mainly the people he was doing the work for.
4  Extreme Kits / Extreme 430 / Re: Fresh build F430 on a MR2 SW20 on: October 14, 2018, 06:14:43 PM
That's an American site, using dna photos
only uk sites are src kits using a celica, mr2kits using the mr2 mk2

There`s been several vids on YouTube via mad mechanics, they tried cutting the corners from the screen for lambo kits. There seems to be two problems when carrying out the task.
If the cut is successful, this becomes a stress, possible delamination point.
The guys noticed that a  crack would always start from there if anywhere, and the milk effect would start from the cut corner. This topic was discussed around 5 years ago.
6  Off Topic / General Chitchat / Re: What's with all the spam posts?? on: September 01, 2018, 09:35:20 PM
For some reason between the two sites the extreme gets all the spam, Steve usually cleans it all up, he might be on holiday

I had followed this project from the start, even when it went with him to Dubai. I never thought he ever intended for it to go on the road, in all honesty the car is a death trap. It's a pity he spent £££££'s on it. It would never pass an engineer's inspection.
Can't knock the guy, he built a car in his garage.

Just curious, I've followed this build since it was a posted in the old days, is it still the dad building with the son doing all the media work, has the scope of the car development changed as I haven't seen any pictures or video of DAD working on the car?

All the best for your new adventure, I'm looking to emigrate in 5 years to California. Just a pipe dream at the mo, not sure if I've got the balls to do it Huh?

With all the effort you're going to I'm confused as to why you're not having the parts powder coated in matt black (comes out as silk matt when powder coated) The protection is far greater, aerosol paints are soft and don't take that much of a battering.
All my underside parts have been powdercoated where possible, the rest I sprayed with 2K, minimal cost far greater protection. My subframes and  all suspension components were sandblasted, and either primed when rubber bushes were present or powder coated for £250, I had the sway bars powdered in white. This was a cash price and took a couple of weeks due to the parts being done within big orders of particular colours, the finish is exceptional, looks totally OEM.

My ali parts have been hit with wire brushes on a die grinder, this cleans the cast ali up okay, but doesn't come close to the professional ali polishing companies, I wasn't after the polished effect, just new or clean looking.
11  Extreme Deals / Buy and Sell Forum / Re: WD : Looking for Murci Replicas in US on: April 10, 2017, 08:50:19 AM
isn't the G28 more of an American replica for you guys over the water? Mad mechanics forum talks of this replica quite a lot although most are modified due to it's inaccuracies somewhere in the body design.

We've got clients who store their pride and joy in these bubbles, they are also available in clear plastic as internal storage covers.

Couldn't understand why there are so few extreme 430's. This kit was introduced years before extreme went under. How's it feel to be an exclusive member, there's only four other 430s either extreme or splashed that I know of.
Well done, looks great.
14  Extreme Kits / Extreme ChitChat / Re: Adjusting the shocks. on: October 24, 2016, 07:54:05 PM
Hi Brillo,
First do you have GAZ shocks or gas, GAZ sock absorbers (down the road to me) were supplied with some of the early extreme kits. They have different types of dampers, some are fully adjustable (hydraulic compression and rebound) others just height adjustable. The good news is that GAZ also make and supply their own springs. Take a look at this vid for info on your GAZ shock innards

15  Extreme Kits / Extreme ChitChat / Re: New build from scratch. What's involved on: October 09, 2016, 04:56:28 PM
Madmechanics have a few scratch builders, but from info and failures on scratch builds, the glass package including lights is top on the list. Take a look at the VAYDOR. Matt shows you the type of dedication required to produce a kit car.
