So it sounds like Ferrari did a crackdown on everyone? Where would one but 360 headlights and taillights outside Eurospares?

5  Extreme Kits / Extreme 355 / Re: MR2 Ferrari 355 kitcar number 2 here we go on: December 16, 2018, 08:30:18 PM
My 355 was a Fiero Factory. I remember when I got the kit back in 2010 I thought it was amazing, and about a year into the build I started fighting with the owners saying they sold me some crap. After more experience with kitcars, actually Fiero Factory did a fine job - and unfortunately they are no longer in business but would love to build another one of their kits.

How much did you get for it if I may ask?

I bought their kit in 2010 and despite having disputes with the owners, I was sad to see they weren't making at anymore as it was actually a very good kit. It was also less than half the price of the Extreme kit

Hi Gents, after selling my F355 replica a couple of years ago I want to build another one. Not kidding when I say that I think about it like a lost lover. Unfortunately money is an issue. Where can I get a dirt cheap 355 kit - doesn't have to be Extreme, doesn't even have to be that good as I can repair it myself

The 3sgte engine is one of Toyota's best. In my 355 all I did was get a bigger turbo and dump valve and used an aftermarket ECU. The power was very good - never got it rated though, but you could really feel it. What I do remember though was that on spacers the car was very awkward to drive without the mods - but with the extra power it was actually dangerous

In all honesty I would do another 355. I really loved my 355. I was practical (as it is a Toyota) and very beautiful. I sold it under duress, was not nearly done enjoying it
14  Extreme Deals / Buy and Sell Forum / Re: 355 front grille wanted on: April 21, 2017, 11:17:09 PM
I made one myself out of aluminium.  Here is what I used

  - 5 threaded rods (M10), about 22cm
  - a hollow rod that fitted loosely around the threaded rods, which  I cut into 20pieces about 5 cm each,
  - 3 aluminum strips about 5cm long and as wide as I needed the grill to be.

I first drilled 5 equidistant holes in the middle of the strips, then ran threaded rods using the small hollows as spacers. I then used a grinder carefully following the shape of the car, just concentrating on one side of the car first, and only shaving off the top and bottom strip. I used a dremel to get it exactly right, on just one half.

This is important because the curvature of the grill has to contour with the body so each strip is not the same.

The I took the whole thing apart again and traced the curved part of half of each strip on a piece of paper and used it as a template to shape the second half. Then I took the two shaped pieces (top and bottom strips) and just made the middle strip go halfway.

It was an interesting exercise but I can honestly say that the result was better than a 355 grille.
