I'm a poor Fireman
If I bought a personalised plate I think I would be a waking up with a team of doctors around me.
She would not be happy at all

These door windows are not as straight forward as I thought.
Could not get the window to fit properly
Think I may have put the rear runner in slightly twisted so have removed it and will try again tomorrow. Also got a few light scratches on the window  :-[
And I have ordered some M5x70 countersunk screws to do this mod by Xpert360

Update time
Whilst I am waiting for the screws to sort out my door windows, I decided to start on the CS style door sills yesterday

Because the metal I have is 2mm thick I am having to do each side in 4 parts, so it follows the shape of the original eXtreme sills.
Being 2mm thick it is hard to bend to the shape and looks quite flat
So to start of I ground out some of the fibreglass panel and bonded on the rear and front parts that make up the face of the sill
Sorry no pics of this as I was in the zone and forgot  ;D
Anyway that was left overnight to go off
Today I set about measuring and welding on the bottom part of the sill
Again this was in 2 parts.
I offered up the rear part and scribed it into the original Peugeot sill, cut it to the line and then welded it on
Fully welded along the original sill and fully welded along the front face of the CS style sill

Now when I had finished this part I had an ' Og F**k ' moment
The heat from welding the bottom part to the front CS face radiated up and made the bonding come unstuck and it had slipped  >:(

So i got my new Dremel out, ground out as best I could the bonding paste, reapplied some more and screwed it back up
I then did the same to the front part of the sill, but this time I made sure the radiated heat was to a minimal and fingers crossed it worked

One of the jobs I have to get done is to sort out the cross member, on which my radiators sits
It has been pushed up, it was like it when I bought the car, but completly forgot about it, until today

You can see it in this picture

So I set about removing the radiator, need a new one anyway.
Then once the radiator was out I could see that my Air-con condensor was it a sorry state, so that is going to be replaced along with the radiator.

This is where I had visions in my head of going mad with a hammer. The fans and surround will not come out with out a bit of trimming, losing skin on your hands and a lot of swearing
I am lucky at the moment that my car is yet to be painted, so I was a bit rough with it
Anyway I removed it, calmed myself down and with a big bit of wood and a big hammer I straightend out the cross member  :)
This is how it looks now

And whilst I was laying down taking the pic I thought this made a nice picture, especially when she is painted
What a nice sight for someone if they were ever run over by one of these cars  ;D

And my soon to be replaced parts

Mick

QUESTION TIME  :)

I had a hour today so thought I would get my wiper motor sorted before she goes away for paint
Anyway what i would like to know is if the bracket for the wiper motor, the one that is welded somewhere near the Off Side Bonnet hinge, is necessary
If it is necessary then has anyone got any pictures of this bracket welded on
I never got one in the kit, which is no hardship has I have lots of metal to make one

The wipers seem to be stable with just the other two brackets
So any answers would be greatfull
Thanks
Mick

Hi Mickey,

The bar supplied with the kit, was supposed to be welded onto the suspension turret , but they forgot that the hinge gets in the way, I cut mine down and welded it to the pivot point on my hinge, just makes it less wobbly :)

Hey mick , I think it defo needs the extra brace bar to be safe , what Alex has said is Wright  they forgot about the hinge , I just used a bit of flat bar to brace it here's a pic hope it's clear to see ,jd

Thanks Colin  :)

Todays update

I made a start on the Off Side CS style sill today
Again first of all I marked out, cut and prepared the eXtreme sill

Then mixed up some U-Pol and bonded on the front faces of the sill

I then did the same for the front part and then sanded them down ready for the bottom plates to be welded on

Not a very good picture, as it looks as thought the front part of the sill is running up, it is just the angle I took it  ;)

I will give the bonding 24 hours before I weld up the bottom.
Hopefully I will get enough time tomorrow to make another start on my door windows  :o

Also got my wiper motor in and working, along with the bracket that I welded to the hinge pivot pin ( Thanks Alex )
A bit more stable now  :)

Mick
