Nice try Steve haha

Anyway, managed to get the drivers seat in, in between the rain showers  ???
Not really much for photos but this is what I used for the supports
This is the rear support

As you can see, I cut off the top of the existing supports and then welded in the bar. Then capped off the holes, which gave it more strength.
The support for the front of the seats was easier, as there are no supports in the way. No picture for this though  ::)

This is how she is now, with both seats in. Got to run some power to the drivers seat, so I can adjust it up for me Steve :P

Here is a question for the clever ones out there.
Since replacing my seats, I am now getting a warning light up on the dash. Seat airbags. What can I do to overcome this problem
Thanks
Mick

You may need to put a resistor in between two wires to cancel the light out.  maybe do a search for that?

Oh no. This is under the drivers seat. Where do I start with finding the correct wires :o

Cheers

Its the two orange wires in the orange connector block, cut these off and wire 2 10 ohm resistors in parallel between them (or it was with mine anyway).

Hi Lacie
Thanks for the reply but I don't have any orange wires in the orange connector block :o
But I did find this whilst mouching around in google

Blue connector is for the side air bags in the seat and the Brown connector of similar dimensions is for the seat belt pre tensioner. Both these connectors from the seat side, have thin, 2 core orange cable going to them.
Red connector with just one wire in it, that's the earth for the side air bag unit and can also trigger a fault light during self test.

So I have ordered some 2.7 and 3.3 ohm resistors and will give it ago.
Will I need to plug all the Srs ECU's back in. I had one under my centre console and one next to each front seat
And should I just earth out the Red connector wire
Cheers
Mick

Anyway
Managed to wire in the rest of the lights today and painted all the welds, from fitting the seats, in black hammerite
Got some new rear brake shoes, pads and discs for the rear coming tomorrow, the handbrake is sticking on a little, so just renew it all
Once I have it jacked up I will look at re-routing my fuel filler pipe
Took a picture from outside my bedroom window. Neighbours must think I'm a right T*@t haha

Not much more to do ;D

Its definitely the thin orange wires you need to put resistors across. I had to reconnect the SRS ECU's before the light would go off but I didn't earth any other wires so I'd probably leave the red and see if it works. If not, then earth the red.

Be careful with it though because even something as simple as running a multimeter across an SRS can trigger airbags. I'd strongly recommend disconnecting the battery the night before and only reconnect it after you've made the edits and reattached the SRS modules ;)

Thanks Lacie
Will definitely disconnect the battery for couple of hours, my friend was messing with a seat from a Mazda once.
He had the seat on a workmate whilst trying to find the wires for the electric motors. Anyway there was an almighty explosion, he was knocked backwards off his chair, and suffered some facial lacerations. It was deafening. Unbeknown to him, he had touched the side airbag wires. I laugh because apart from the small cuts to his face he was ok
Anyway the neighbour from over the road came running over shouting ' have you been shot, have you been shot ? '

Haha I wet myself laughing haha

Right had a go at sorting out my Seat Airbag warning light today

My 3.3 ohm resistors turned up in the post so set about sorting it out
My battery had been disconnected all night so no worries there ( fingers crossed haha )

I bent up the legs of the resistors and push it down the terminal holes of the plugs, the tapped them up nice and tight
Here is the Seat Pretensioner plug

And here is the Seat Side Airbag plug

Didn't bother earthing the green wires.
I had already put the ignition key in and had it switched to on. If the steering wheel airbag was to go off when I connected the battery back up, I didn't want to be in the way.
Anyway, no big bangs and dust everywhere
Started the car up and the light went out. Yaaaayyyyyy  ;D
Tidied the wires away and gave her a wash

Back on duty tomorrow so no love and attention for a few days, but sorting out the fuel filler pipe when I'm next off  ;)

Haha Steve

Before I begin, let me explain

At work we work a self roster shift. Basically we have a piece of paper with the days of the month on it, and we have to choose when we would like to work. At the end of it we should have 4 people working each day of the month. If it turns out to be more than 4 people then we have to sort it out between ourselves then if not our Watch Manager sorts it.

It is then up to us to make sure we know when we are working
I went into work yesterday and I was 2 days early. I planked myself haha

So skipped home a happy bunny because I still had two days off haha
What can I do with them days ????
I know, I'll sort out my headlining panel  ;D

Knowing that it didn't fit, because it was not wide enough, I cut it in to 3 pieces. Fitted each piece into the car and with some straps I screwed each piece together and then Sikaflexed them so that they didn't move when I removed the panel

I left that to set and then today I removed it as one piece and bridged the gaps with some UPOL

Flipped it over, rubbed it down and then a skim of filler

Then made sure it still all fits

Now it is ready to be trimmed and then can be fitted for good

Anyway back to work tomorrow, I think haha  ::)

What's happened to the original headlining, am I missing something?

Hi Brillo
I got the headlining panel in the kit. Some people have been able to reuse their original headlining though, I think Alex has ????
