Re: Cerberus here we go.

Hi everybody.
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post here. I’ve been busy out and about enjoying Cerberus to the full.
I’ve now done just under 700 miles since she passed her mot.
Ok it has not been trouble free but it’s been fun to say the least.
We’ve been up and around London twice. Showing off with people running behind with cameras trying to get a snap.
Given a few young friends and neighbours supprise rides and even went to a small car show to show her off. And to finish off with a pro photo shoot to get some 2018 calendars made.
She’s had all the attention ever needed for this year.
But it’s now that time to put her to bed until next spring.
The gritter lorries are out spreading all that salt crap everywhere so it’s beddie byes time.
So this week I have been getting Cerberus ready for her 6 month hibernation.
She will live in a car coon inflated bubble inside my garage.
So let’s start getting her ready.
Today it’s bath time. I’m going to completely wash everything. Behind the wheels, fully underneath and every nook and cranny.
The best way to wash behind the wheels is to remove them. So off with the wheels.
Remove all the small stones etc from the treads and then wash throughly. Dry with a clean leather.
With the wheels off I cover the discs so they don’t get wet. We don’t want any surface rust on those.
I also cover the engine as I don’t really want water around the electrics.
Next I was the underneath completely. I scrub everything and everywhere and then rinse off.
I then wash the rest of the body using supagard shampoo and then rinse away clean.
Notice I don’t use a pressure washer. Just a gentle hose. Pressure washes are for removing crap. There’s no crap here just alittle Road dust. They don’t do the paint work any good anyway.
Because she has so many places water can just puddle I blow all the water off using a air line.
I then dry using a synthetic leather.
So that’s bath time done.
Time to give her a hoover. Just to make sure everything’s clean inside.
To finish off I give all the leather some supagard leather treatment.
Now back to the brakes. I give them a good clean using supagard alloy wheel protector. There’s no oil or silicone in this stuff so it’s perfect for cleaning the brakes.
Now back to the wheels.
Before refitting I check the tyre pressures. Torque up the wheel spacers and the pop the wheels back on.
To finish off the wheels I give the tyres a wipe over with some armour all. Makes everything look new without being sticky.
In she goes. It’s a very tight squeeze with barely a inch to spare each side on the lower side air ducts.
I will leave her in like this to dry before going into the car coon.
Only a few things left to do.
Put some fresh petrol in mixed with a fuel stabiliser to stop the petrol going manky.
Jack up all 4wheels so it’s not standing on the tyres for months giving them flat spots.
Inject alittle oil into each cylinder. By removing the spark plugs.
Disconnect the battery and then zip her up in the car coon.
So more next week Cool

Re: Cerberus here we go.

Hi Guys.
Well it’s been quite a few months since my last post as the Lambo has been stashed away for the winter months.
And hasent it been a long dark cold winter. With some added snow on a few occasions.
Well spring is nearly here once shitty Easter is out of the way.
The weather should be getting warmer and summer will soon be amongst us.  We hope!
I haven’t done much with the car except for starting it and moving it ever 4 weeks to make sure I don’t get flat spots on the tyres.
It been locked up in my garage inside it’s inflatable bubble keeping her dry and warm.
So I’m sure the lambo has been the talk of the town in the past recent week as I decided to pop her on fleebay.
I didn’t have much idea on what she was actually worth in today’s market so I popped her in fleebay with a very high reserve to make sure that she was safe.
First of all.
There’s some right wan*kers on fleebay. The amount of insults I got was out of this world. Pure jealousy.
Insults consisting of it’s only worth £5000 and it won’t sell for much more.
Buy it now offers for £7000 and swaps for some right piles of crap.
Some of the insults actually got personal. Like I’m worse than cancer and they hope I die from it.
WTF.  It actually got so bad I almost pulled it off.
I’ve never had anything like it.
Jee. She’s a kit car that I’ve restored. So I have no idea why so many people are so jealous.
Anyway I stick my middle finger up to all those twats and proceed to let the auction run.
So the bidding finally ended with a value of just over £28k. Picture of ended auction.
So Cerberus is worth £28k without anybody seeing her. That’s a good valuation.
Anyway I hope this gives other owners a idea of what these cars are worth.
NOT! FIVE GRAND!  DOH! There no MR2 Ferrari’s. LOL
Now that’s out of the way it’s time to prepair Cerberus for the summer.
I have booked her in at the body shop again as there is a few cracks, blemishes and bubbles that need attention.
I plan to keep ahead of them as they will soon add up. The body is always flexing when you drive her so there bound to be a few cracks appear.
I did catch the passenger side air vent on the garage door one day giving it a nice small scrape   Embarrassed so that need repairing as well.
the sun was shining today. So I have dug the car out to start preparing her for the body shop.
You sort of forget what she looks like when you first get her out after a long period. And your blown away by her beauty.
Yep that’s mine! Still takes my breath away.
So I need to remove all the grills, rear lights and loosen the rear panel so the body shop can get access.
Yes the body shop can do it but as I know exactly how she assembled it’s easier for me to do it.
Whilst the rear is fully open I take a few reminder photos you.
Ummm just look at that engine.  Kiss
So I have a few jobs to do before she goes in for a touch up.
More to follow.
I’m going to make a few changes to Cerberus this year so watch thins space.
Yep this post is back up and running

Re: Cerberus here we go.

Time for a update.
Unfortunately it looks like I’m going to miss Stoneleigh as I have to much on with work etc.
I’m not worried as I will only end up coming back home with another project. Which isn’t a good time.
Anyway this week Cerberus is going off to the body shop to have a touch up.
She’s gained a few bubbles and cracks last year so it’s best to get them done to keep on top of everthing.
at the end of the day it is a plastic pig. So it will crack and bubble.
As I have pre stripped the car ready for its bodywork it’s no longer road legal so will require transporting.
It took me a while to find somebody who’s sensibly priced and has the correct vehicle to transport such a car.
So I found this guy. Has a 18ft low bed trailer and specialises in super car delivery.
As you’d expect it was pissing down with rain on Monday morning. So Cerberus got wet.
Fortunately the transporter guy covers the car to project it from road crap.
Once the cars in the body shop we leather it off so it’s dry and ready for prep.
I now leave the car for the week.
I popped in on Friday to take a few photos for you all of there progress.
So far they have been repairing all the small cracks and bubbles ready for painting next week.
The body shop did say they would like if for a couple of weeks.
So more next week.
