We've got clients who store their pride and joy in these bubbles, they are also available in clear plastic as internal storage covers.

Time for a update.
Sorry it's been a while since my last post.
Me mum had a stroke 2 weeks ago and since then everything has been alittle crazy on the family front.  :'(
Poor old Cerberus had been put on the shelf for a while.  :-\
So this week I managed to get time to do alittle something with the car.
Earlier on a few weeks ago I finished fitting the scuttle panel along the bottom of the windscreen.
So all I needed to do was fit the new wiper arm and wiper.
On Tuesday my fitter friend came over to finish off the rear brakes by fitting the handbrake.
Not a easy task since it's difficult to jack the car up high enough to get access to the middle of the car.
Hurray I have a hand brake again.
Now that the brakes have been finished I booked Cerberus in for another pre MOT to check on the bits I have still missed.
So I needed to get the car ready for it.
I finally have fitted the mirrors. They are completely manual but the final result is great. Once adjusted there is no need to re adjust them. They fold in by simply pushing them in.
I have finally found some wheel centres in silver to fit the lambo wheels. I have chosen the centres with the raging bull in silver.
Because they are a crazy £100 each I have been buying 1 per month.  So far I have brought only 2. But by July I will have a complete set of 4  ;D
Crazy how a round piece of plastic can cost £100 each. Oh well you gotta have them.
Today I took Cerberus for its pre mot. As it's booked in for a MOT I'm aloud to drive it to the test station and back.
The sun was shining so a small ride was in order  8)
On my way to the mot centre  I made a small video for you lot. So you can hear what she sounds and looks like on the road.  8)
It was only a short drive but it was probably the best journey I've done for a few years  :o
Take a look. The video is right at the bottom. Whoops I slipped the clutch abit pulling away.  ;D
First time driving a manual car for a while.  ;)
The pre mot was very strict and yes I have missed a few bits.
My front anti roll bar bushes are shot, passenger side bottom ball joint has play, and there's a small design fault when extreme extended the chassis. The rear anti roll bar is hitting the chassis when going over bumps so this needs looking at.  ???
I managed to use this opportunity to finally align the headlights on the mot light thingy. With my new adjuster that I made. Adjusting the lights worked perfectly.
Now I can finally fit the lenses.
So that's it for now. Loads of photos as always and my little video at the bottom.
More to follow in a few weeks time.  ;)

Hi everybody.
As you all know, Cerberus is coming on well and is well on the way to becoming Road legal again.
When I had my pre mot inspection on Friday I realised that I have missed so much to making her perfect.
Yes she has amazing brakes, wheels, bodywork and interior but other parts are still shit.
Firstly the underneath looks shit. Like the example in the 1st photo. It looks like what it is a 1990 G reg 27 year old mr2.  I want to make her look like new again.
Secondly when you look at the engine bay again it looks like a pile of shit. As you can see in photo no2.
So what I would like to do is completely recon the underneath of the car. This would require a lot of black stone chip paint and new parts. ;D
Secondly when you open the engine bay I would like to see a nice shiny engine with lots of chrome.
To do this I would probably need to drop the engine out to paint the engine bay and strip down the engine to get the parts professionally polished.  ;D
So I have decided to put rushing to get her on the road this summer and concentrate on the attention to detail.
I'm going to buy some specialised tools for this part of the restoration.
I need a proper vehicle lift so I'm going to buy a hydraulic mid lift to get the car up high to work on underneath.
I'm also going to buy a summer tent again to keep things covered during this process.
So for this summer I'm going to concentrate on the finer detail to make her really special.
As always you can keep up to date on here so watch this space. ;)

Time for this weeks update.
I've decided to refurbish the engine, engine bay and the whole underside of the car.
I'm going to remove the engine, a lot on underside components so that I can clean everything up and get loads of top engine components polished.
I'm going to replace every suspension bush and ball joint so it's all new.
Whilst everything underneath is removed I will give the whole car a good coat of underseal.
To do these tasks I have treated myself to a mid lift car ramp to raise the car up by 1.2 meters.
I hate lying under cars. Especially when you have no room to work and for this the lambo is worse than ever.
I need to keep everything dry again so I'm putting up another summer marquee.
I'm not trusting the English weather this summer.
So here we go.
On Thursday the new white marquee turned up from machine mart. Then on Friday my mid lift car ramp arrived on a massive pallet :o
This midlift is the lowest available and according to my measurements it should just fit under the lambo with the air suspension raised.
The midlift is fully hydraulic and is operated my an air compressor.
It's seriously heavy weighing around 300kg so it's alittle difficult to put in position.
Today I assembled the marquee. I have decided to assemble the marquee over the ramp as trying to position it after the tent is built would be a difficult job.
After a few hours the marquee was assembled and the ramp was in position ready.
My measurements were spot on. The lambo drove straight over the ramp with 1 inch to spare. :D
No jacks or wooden planks were needed. Just the raised up air suspension.
Perfect.  ;D
Once in position I line up the supports so they are just touching the sills of the car.
I then connect up my big air compressor and we're ready to go.
You press the pedal on the pump and Chuff. Chuff. Chuff it goes then the car starts to lift.
It's quite slow going up but it certainly works well.
I take the ramp up to full height. It's perfect for sitting under the car to work. Loads of room.
Because the engine is so far back on this car it's totally clear of the ramp. Dropping out the engine should be a breeze.
Now you can see what sort of state the car is underneath. It does need quite some work. But there's no rot. Just surface rust.
It's engine out next week so more updates then. ;)

wow, I love that idea.... do you have to bolt it down or is it free standing? does the compressor need to be running when it is up in the air or does it have a lock off?

Time for a update.
Well it's engine removal time. The car is up on the lift ready so it's all systems go. ;D
My fitter friend turned up first thing to get cracking.
We started by removing the rear brakes. We don't want those expensive nice brakes hanging around with the risk of damage.
Once the brakes are removed we start by disconnecting pipes, leads and everything that is attached from the body to the engine.
Whilst he was busy disconnecting everything I marked up the chasssis where the anti roll bar hits the chassis. When everything's out of the way I will be cutting a recess in the chassis to make good clearance for the anti roll bar.
More on this another time.
By lunchtime everything was disconnected and it was time to start loosening and removing the engine mountings.
I have no idea if any of this will go back and work again.  :-\
We dropped the car right down on to some axle stands and removed all the mountings and subframe bolts.
Then simply lifted the car back up again using the lift leaving the whole lot in the floor. Engine, gearbox and subframe.
We put a couple of crappy wheels on to keep everything level.
So up we went. Alittle bit at a time. Pushing and adjusting the engine so it clears the car as it goes up.
Finally we were clear. Car up at full height and the whole lot still sitting on the floor.
The next job was to separate the subframe from the engine and gearbox. A couple of bolts and removing the driveshafts and it easily separated.
What amazed me is how heavy a mr2 turbo engine and gearbox is. I myself has never ever removed an engine from any car so this is a new experience for me.
The engine and gearbox weighs a tonne but I need to move it about so it fitted perfectly on a old sack barrow I had hanging around.
Now with the engine removed you can see how big the engine bay would be in a real murcielago.
It's massive. Plenty of room for that V12 thats in the real one.
The next day I set about cleaning up the engine and gearbox.
It's rather dirty with 20 years of old oil and grease around it.
I start by blocking up all the inlets of the engine. Don't really want to fill it with water.
I then completely soak the whole engine in a good degreaser and brush it in really well everywhere.
Once everything's soaked I wash it all down with the pressure washer.
That's better a squeaky clean engine.
Now all the old oil has gone i can start dismantling the engine. All the top parts of the engine are going off for alloy polishing and chrome plating.  :o
Whilst this is being done I'm going to get a new clutch fitted. Best time to do it whilst the engine is out.
On Friday I have a top experienced welder work college coming over to cut and weld the chassis modification. So the anti roll bar can clear the chassis.
Loads to do with the underchassis reconditioning so more next week. :)

Wow.. nice work fella..

To get the rear antiroll bar to clear I just installed longer drop link rods rather than cutting the chassis. I think they were off a mondeo but we are talking 7 years ago so most likely wrong! .. lol

Looking forward to your next post.. Steve
