Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

I spent a good deal of last summer mocking up/planning the installation of the interior panels. sadly I didn't take any photos. When the car is back I'll show in more detail what I do, but for now below is a photo showing the rear parcel shelf in place.

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

So it was finally time to take her to the paint shop. The date was 16th Oct 2017. The car had all be stripped back and got her out the front of the house the day before. We followed behind her as she went to the paint shop. She looked awesome on there I must admit. Really wide at the back...

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

The paint shop belongs to an old school friend and the work they produce is fantastic. I wanted to get this car painted locally so I could go over a visit and see progress as it went. I've been over 4 times since then and she's getting there. As you all know it is all in the preparation but my friend has gone the extra mile and wanted to ensure everything fits properly before the final paint. The roof has needed the most work to get right. What follows are pictures from the painter as he progresses

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

Did some more jobs at home  - painted scuttle cover, arch liners as they were looking tired and also covered some of the interior panels in felt.

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

On the c pillar trims I have taken real ones from a Porsche 997 and modified/incorporated the ANuD interior kit parts to them. I did this because the real ones have a nice curve that goes under the top lip of the rear quarter window hole. Looks messy but when covered in felt you'd never know!

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

We've also decided to change the final colour. I was going for royal blue originally but I have decided to switch for a more modern looking grey metallic colour

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

Been working on painting some of the interior parts as they were looking tired (they are 16 years old!). I also bought a new gearknob and gaiter from a German company off ebay. There a choice of 3 different knob styles and 6 colours for stiching. I've gone for silver stitching

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

Another job done was cutting some access holes in the interior panels. I want to be able to remove the windows if need be. So in the interior panel that glues to the b-pillar I cut 2 3cm holes so I can have access to undo the nuts that hold the rear side windows in. This panel will be glue inplace eventually and then I will cover with felt carpet. The the windows can be put in place afterwards and tightened up thru the access holes. The holes will be covered with bungs.

Re: Paul’s ANUDIMENSION Porsche GTB Build

Part of the lower centre console there was a Boxster S badge. This was raised writing. So I ground the writing off so it was flat, and then sprayed it satin black. I found a nice badge on eBay that I covered the ground down imperfections with.
