Rear engine lid/tailgate construction
« on: May 22, 2017, 02:45:11 PM »
Anyone know whats inside the Extreme tailgate, eg does it have a steel frame inside or just two GRP mouldings sandwiched together?

Reason I ask,m is because:

1/ Am retro fitting the middle brake light, and need to find out if its hollow inside, so I can feed the wires inside
2/ I've splashed out on the genuine grills for each side of the engine lid (Eurospares), and want to anticipate how much grinding half an inch off the top, each side, will have on it, structurally. I'll go the genuine tailgate and glass route eventually, so can use those grills then, if this ends in tears. Keen to make it look better now though.

Thanks

B
