been a bit since I posted anything and to be honest I've not really done much.

I have however had a bit of time on one of my doorcards, sadly they need a bit of altering to get them to fit the extreme kit. You need to shorten the speaker bit and I've also started to build out the top bit so it fills the gap to the dash. Pic's below.

I should however complete my lights this week :-) at last lol

more to come...

hey Steve, out of interest - what method did you use to build up the shape between the door card and the mr2 dash ?

I've used wire mesh with hot melt glue to hold the shape, then glassed over it BUT !!!! if you need to use power sander - the hot melt glue completely blocks the sanding discs / belts.  :(

Also - how are you attaching the door cards to the door ? I know of course the easiest is screws and screw caps but just wondering if you got a neat invisible solution ?

cheers Nick.

Hi Nick,

I used some white protective foam stuff that you find in parcels :-) just stuck a load together with spray glue and used a hacksaw blade and some 80 to get it in to shape. I'm halfway through putting a coat of p40 on it to make it more solid now. Very easy to do and saved loads of time messing about with mesh / cardboard etc.

The door cards are going to have all hidden fixings. The whole door card as it's in a few pieces will screw together, its then hooked over the top of the door and hidden screws will be accessed behind the door speaker and through the door handle... that's the plan anyway :-)

My reed switches have arrived for the doors :-) Got some magnets so will see if they work when I'm down next. The idea is to replace the normal spring door press switches with these reed ones and stick some strong magnets in the doors. This way you wont see anything and my interior light should work when the door pops up :-)

That's WOW!
Seems u cut and paste from another head light at the back to make the driving light
adjustable like the OEM.
That's a very neat & nice work u did.
What headlight u are using?
And the big projector are from the same headlight?

Lambo..

The indicator light is off a Honda.. used as a sidelight. I built a holder for it which sets it back slightly. Powered by a very bright led bulb. (resistors fitted also so it flashes at the correct rate)

The sidelight is a plastic testtube.. inside this is again a very bright LED sidelight which has had it's wires extended and a push fit sidelight connector soldered to it.

The diplight as you say is one taken from a Mitsubishi Delica.. Jon from Evans I can thank for finding this one. It's been bonded to the back of the light but retains all the adjusters so is very easy to set up.

The main beam is the little projector light. This was a fog light which I've stripped down and removed the blind inside to make it a normal driving light. I've just bonded this in as is, non adjustable but doesn't need to be as it's not part of the mot.

The fog light has been dropped and the main beam fitted in it's place. As you know the dip beam on a genuine light also works as the main beam.. it has a blind which is operated via a solenoid. I believe Extreme now have a source for these but didnt at the time for me.

Both lenses have now been secured. I just need to do a final seal test to make sure there all air tight, paint the back of one and I'm all done :-) Now thinking about how they will be removable from the car as I don't just want to bond them in.

Thanks

Steve
