It's the small things....

Well, I decided to 3D print some little LED holders for my interior light. They were just floppy around inside and didn't look very good. I think it's the little things like this that make the difference. Only took an hour or so for the design / print and finish.. lol

Yep, I don't want to rush the re-build as I think it's the most important part.  I'm going to be ordering some new carpet from round the corner (www.coverdaleuk.com) .. They already have the pattern and are happy to alter it for me to suit. Once I get it back I'll measure it up, will take about 3 weeks to come.

I will be concentrating on the exterior build up first. I've drawn some mesh up today so will have a go at putting it on my CNC this week. Not sure if it's good enough to cut it but it will take care of all sill and quarter grilles on the car.

Starting to get everything together now :-)

By the way I have a 3D printer so if you need anything doing let me know :-) I use Autodesk Inventor so can model most things up.

I forgot who asked for it.  I received the 1.5mm bit and did try but it snapped straightaway.. The second one did the same so I didn't try the third one.  I will see if reducing the speed will help at the weekend.  Fingers x'd

Well,

I had a go at 3D printing it. I think if I spent a couple of hours editing the original it might be somewhere close. Attached is my test print. This is printed in black PLA with a quick spray of silver then 400 sanded off on top to get the black back. The final one would be printed in ABS.. as it is I wouldnt stick it on my car.. lol

Don't spend hours on it mate, but if you can cnc them, I think quite a few guys will be buying them off you,

Cheers

P.s. Not bad for a 3d printer tho  :)

I'll have another play see if I can get it closer.. I would still keep a look out on eBay for one in the mean time.. lol

Look. I found a photo of my seats -)

Drew355 will be dropping off my doorcards he borrowed a bit a go so I will be able to start on them soon. I'm also moving the window switches hopefully to the center console.. plus I've ordered some buttons for my batwing / spoiler controller.

Might have a go at cutting some mesh today.

Steve

Thanks fella :-)

Tonight I've cut out the grille on my CNC.. It's not bad but needs a little tweaking and I think looking at it, the holes might be too big.  I also started to draw up my centre console.. the steps on the armrest are going to be P40 filled and the painted gloss black I think, will have to see how that goes.

some photos of the mesh.. Placed a 50p so you can see the size. All my original grilles are at JD's so just going off memory.  lol which is never a good thing!

So, theoretically, if some 360 builders wanted precision holes cut in their fibreglass rear light panel, could this machine do it?

Cheers
