This whole topic has been massively covered in earlier posts of this thread, and whilst the wheelbase and v12 of the 8 series are indeed more identical, the windscren rake (the angle) is way off, the overall height of the 8 series is way too high requiring the winscreen to be chopped down (which requires further VIC checks in the UK), and the windscreen is way to close to the front wheels (actual body proportions) compared to the Aston.
I suggested to another kitcar builder that a monaro be used as a donor instead. Massive wheelbase (ideal for db9/DBS replica) interior almost spot on already, windscreen rake excellent, thumping lump and RWD!!!! BUT, the whole cars height and proportions would mean significant chopping, and thus again, more checks before roadworthyness.
It's about finding a donor that matches for an easier build so the "enthusiast" as well as a kitcar builder can actually do it! That's why the pug works for the 360/430, and an mr2 for the 355.
And that is also why I reckon the V12 vantage would be perfectly suited to a supra donor!!! SAME WHEELBASE, almost identical proprtions, height, window rake, BOTH LIFT BACKS AND NOT COUPES!!!!!!!
SOMEONE TEACH ME HOW TO DO IT PLEASE!!!!
