Failed!  :'(
Failed by the lousy liquid based wax i bought!
Its more like bonding agent more than release agent!

Both Trim rings and fuel cap's silicone mould are gone!
Cleaning them off is a big pain on ass!
Anyone have any good idea how to clean them off?

Hi,

This is a company fairly close to me , but list a lot of products - the craft section may provide some product ideas for making small moulds.

Cheers , Neil

p.s - Top work by the way ..! :D

Thanks for the info buddy.
But i think i just can't wait for it to arrive me.
I will have to do it the old fashioned way.
Peel them off piece by piece and do some serious cleaning.

Should have stick to the polish wax.  :-[

The left ring's is perfect at the outside where i use polish wax.
Liquid wax is use at the rest of part.

The right mould (outer ring) used polish waxed.
The left mould (inner ring) is by liquid base wax.

To bond the diffrent material for the buttons on to the hard plastic cover is not easy.
Anyone have good ideas?

TBH with the fob, you're probably best of finding another one that looks similar and modding that with a badge, and a possible case mod.

I just did a Google on "audi key fob" and there are a number out there that would just need the base sloping and they would look identical as it looks as though this is just a modified Audi group item.
e.g. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-FLIP-KEY-FOB-CASE-A2-A3-A4-A6-2-BUTTON-SMALL-BAT_W0QQitemZ290408943812QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item439db8d0c4

It's just the bottom of the unlock button and the bottom of the case that are sloped, but i can imagine something smart can be done to that?

I've had sucess with the LOCTITE 'all plastics' glue :

maybe worth a try ?

Thank you Mr.Nick355.
U mean this the one to bond the soft buttons piece with the hard plastic shell?
But there' also one problem.
I'll have to tear (  :-[ ) that buttons off nicely to make mould and cast it out of soft urethane resin.

Headlight trim rings:
Off the mould.
Front part is perfect.
But back part is not good (i know it's at the back and no one will bother. But i want to do it right. Please give me another chance. Ordered the wax and will reach me tomorow).
I'll have to wait for the new spraying wax and redo again untill they are good. :P

lambo,

when you say soft buttons - do you mean the buttons are rubber ( or a different type of plastic ? ) and you need to subsequently bond these to hard plastic ?

either way, think this glue may help since the problem in the past is getting any glue to work on the PP range of plastics, but this stuff
is still a cyanacrolate super glue but supplied with a primer for the hard plastics issue. So i would have thought it would do the trick of bonding even dissimiliar materials.

cheers, Nick.
