Kray 360 Build Diary
« on: September 19, 2008, 09:09:42 PM »
Well I'm collecting bits prior to the wedding as and when I spot a good deal, so I thought I'd post what I have so far and what my thoughts are regarding styling.

Not much to start with - cant wait til I get the kit and start on the bodywork so I can post some more interesting pics.

Raw Material:

Ex-Ebay Car: 1997 3.0 V6 SE (full service history and recon engine with 70k on the clock) £800

Ex-Ebay Wheels: As new Jag XK8 wheels 8.5J front, 9.5J rear 19" with new Dunlop tyres 245/40 front and 275/35 rear £400 (OMG how happy am I with the price!!!)

Mock up on F360 (These are the new Jag Jupiter wheels which have slightly wider spokes, but you get the idea):

Backend - black light panel

Colours / Design - Metalic dark Grey with light Grey stripes:

WoooHooo - Original 360 Exhaust!!! £200 (God I hope it was a good buy!)

Now to just Pave over the front garden and order the Body Kit - (After the Wedding that is!!)

That colour combo was my second choice. You have very good taste. ;D ;D
Shoud be awsome when its done. Looking forward. But you have a lot of work ahead of you. If your not sure on anything, ask before you do or cut. Beleive it or not there are a few tricks and tips that you could learn from others.

Nice one

Looking at the extreme kit pictures, the yellow side lights (like in the photo above) aren't standard.

Is anyone adding these to their build?

I saw a thread about side lights but I thought it was referring to the indicators behind the wheel arch, just in front of the door as there didn't seem to be much regarding the long on the bumper  :-\

I'll re-read  ;)

I've been thinking about making up some LED side lights and the centre rear brake light with some sort of display function by programming a microcontroller chip. I'll have a play and post some stuff for you guys to comment on if I think it isn't too tacky looking.

Ya, the 430 pics are only for colour scheme

I kind of like the orange side lights on the 360 above the 430 pics though - I have some on my crappy old volvo that actually look of  8)  so may think about adding them to the build. The Jury is out at the mo.

So many details to consider that I hadn't even thought about when I decided to do this build.

...Brain will explode in 10..9..8..7...6  :o

just keep buying the detailed bits. Itll be a hell of a lot easier towards the end if you have everything ready. Good Luck

Yep its nice when you get to a stage in your build and remeber you have already got stuff for that bit. Its like christmas opening the bits up. I just got all my badges, centre caps and interior stuff out for a bit of inspiration!

The wheels were a bargain!!! Good deal!!

Do you have a bigger version of the pic you did with the jupiter wheels? Those are the ones highest on my wish list at the moment either that or 20" trafficstars.

Nifty tool for visualising your wheels - you just need a sideways shot of your car to plug into it

I'll see if I can dig one out and email it to ya - pm me your email.

Well, Good News and Bad News!!

First the Good News

We got Married!

Knocked the wall down so I can get the car onto the front of the house

Before                                                          After

Now to level the Garden  8)

BUT THEN DISASTER.....

A Burst Radiator has flooded the house

Lost the Bedroom, Landing, Hall and Dining Room Walls and floors

The kitchen is written off, and if the builder condemns the ceiling and boiler wall we'll probably have to move into a hotel until the work is done >:( >:( >:( >:(

The Joys of Married Life!!!
