Cheers for the update.
Hey Mick, If I was you, I don't think I would want any association with the original poor workmanship of another, LOl
Now its in the hands of JD I am sure we will both end up with the same top class finish.
Tone
-
Well done buddy :)
-
Does spark want a 360 system for it ??? ;)

Cheers for the update.

Tone
-
Nice 1 great stuff ;)
-
Hi tone ,guys time for an update , one of the jobs iv been on with is fitting the Oem Ferrari exhaust , first I had to cut and remove all the 3mm plate that had been welded in the boot floor and rear panel ,once I had this removed I could centralise the exhaust and get it lined up ,I ordered and received the new exhaust mounts (Ford Fiesta gearbox mounts )these are what i used on mine and hav proved to be more than up to the job, just got to remove a bit more of the pug chassis ends to clear the tail pipes then weld the brackets on to bolt the mounts to tomorrow ,then I can order some bends up and fab the exhaust ,here's a few pics for now cheers Jd
-
I love this! What are you doing with the two cans further up the exhaust (ie the cat and that other small silencer)?
My plan is to fit a bypass valve up front before those, with a stubby pipe and actuate using vacuum pipe and solenoid for manual override. The F360 rear box has bypass valves, right?
-
As always top work JD :)
Mick
-
Cheers JD,
Great work as always.
Tone
-
Top stuff Jd
-
Hi tone ,guy's another update , iv finished the exhaust mounts, dressed up the rear end, caped the chassis ends and sealed underneath the floor , iv also started the rear bulk ( fire wall for the exhaust ) this will keep all the fumes etc out of the car iv just got to finish the top part so it seals along the engine cover then order some bends to complete the exhaust, here's a few pics cheers Jd
-
You are going to have a 1st class car there, especially with JD on the case ;D
Mick
-
Hey JD, will you be closing the top of that bulkhead also?
Cheers
-
Cheers Mick,
the reality is, if it wasn't for JD I definitely would have sold it on unfinished. There were far too many things to put right and with work being manic for the last few years I would never have got anywhere near finishing.
Cheers JD,
for the update. Excellent work as usual.
Tone
-
Hi tone , Guys, time for an update, firstly after finding a slack bolt on one of the new shockers the previous owner had fitted I thought I'd better go over everything suspention wise that had been fitted ,just as well as nearly every thing was slack as well as the wrong nut fitted to the other shocker ,once that was done I .finished up sealing and painting the the new rear bulkhead ,then before I fitted the exhaust silencer I gave it a good polish it came up like brand new ,the new bends hav arrived so the next job is to pipe the exhaust all up ,also finished up the new pipe work to the tank from the filler neck , here's a few pics cheers JD
-
A couple more
-
This last pic is checking the fit of the huge rear wheels ready to get the spacers made ,they are massive tone lol
-
Are those wheels and tyres straight off of a Boeing !!!!!!
You should trial fit them to that MG Midget JD haha
Nice work JD
Mick
-
Well I have just got in from work after a 13hr hard slog and thought I will have a quick browse on Tinternet.
Wow, if there is ever a good little pick me up, then a nice progress report does the trick.
JD, it looks you must have had a good holiday and came back firing on all cylinders. The big question is, are those phat wheels going to fit and if they do, will I only be able to drive in straight lines? Lol
Nice work and cheers for the update.
Tone
-
Great work as ever JD , tone must be well happy, nice to see some pics up :)
-
Them pics don't do them wheels justice they are huge it's going to look evil from behind lol it's looking well though tone ????
-
Hi tone ,guys a little update ,iv spent time sorting and pipping the pug exhaust up to the Ferrari exhaust silencer it sounds good ( I sent tone a video as I can't download them on here as it says they are to big ) also fitted a couple of brackets to the new filler neck pipe to keep it secure , I fed the new pipe work through the car to the tank as this car will be getting a new rear bulk fitted behind the drivers seat as tone has bought genuine Ferrari engine bay panels , as for the wheels I'm waiting on spacers at the minute but it looks like I can get them to fit but I will hav to tub the rear inner arch a couple of inches but will look the nuts when it's sitting on these bad boys ,
Back on bodywork till the spacers arrive I'm having to completely redo the doors as the previous person fitted the door skins without doing the door handle and hockey stick mod . Cheers for now jd
-
Looking great JD.. BUT will you please STOP posting pictures of 360's as it's making me jealous and wanting one...
-
Top work Matey
Cant wait to see this one sat down on them mahossive rear wheels
Mick
-
Steve you should PM Alex if you want a 360 aswel ????
-
Hi tone , guys well time for another update although iv been busy getting mickeys finished I hav been cracking on, firstly I had to redo the drivers door, as mentioned before the previous owner had not done this as it should be done anyway not to bore you with to much detail it is all done back together and refitted also rebonded the side skirt so apart from the front end that's the side ready to start bodywork, next I made the framework for the bulkhead behind the front seats ,then welded this in place and fitted the plywood covering ,just the top corner bits to do next , I'm still waiting on spacers but hope to hav them in the next few weeks then I can finish the rear inner archs and get her sat back on her new mahusive wheels lol ,here's a few pics cheers jd
-
Unfortunately my internet is Rubish so taking ages so will, just post the best few
-
More lol
-
Last one
-
And the Ferrari Line continues ;D
As always top work
I will be looking at the way you've run the filler pipe when I come to get mine, if I can peel myself away from mine haha
Mick
-
Hi Guys,
Hopefully JD should be back onto mine now Brillo's is complete and with seeing so many red versions I am now contemplating a different colour.
The colour I am considering is, Ferrari Blu Abu Dhabi and was then thinking of carbon fibre (hydro graphic) door mirrors etc..
Any thoughts.
Cheers, Tone
-
Hi Sparks , guys , well now Chris's 355 is finished and gone and I'm not taking any more day to day work on I can now concentrate on the last couple of cars ,
So time for an update .
I finished the bulkhead behind the drivers seat then covered this in black carpet to match the new seats ,
Next I fitted the bulkhead window ,then totally sealed it all in which means no fumes also means I can leave the top of the exhaust showing which will look so cool with the fake engine ,
Next up was to fit the 2 genuine ferrari engine bay side panels these really finish the engine bay off .
Also fitted the boot and bonnet catches ( just as well I had a spare car for all the little bits that were missing )
Then I fitted the seat belts and made and fitted the seat frames for the new seats ,
Here's a few pics for now cheers jd
-
The new seats fitted And one of the engine bay , not sure why the are coming out distorted .
-
I thought everyone was hibernating haha
Good to see the progress
No rest for some haha
Mick
-
Hi tone , guys , here's another update , first iv fitted all the cables for the bonnet ,boot and petrol catches, all working great now , then iv fitted the washer bottle and washer pump off the spare car, we now hav washers ,
So with a few more little jobs off my List it was time to start on the Audi window conversion so started on the drivers side , iv got the Audi frame all cut to size ,the pug door all trimmed and bolted the Audi frame in place ,next it was time to fit the mock up window ( a spare scratched one I use ) into the frame and check it all fits ok which after doing so many now it does lol , ok then it was time to alter the roof lip so the door window rubber fits perfectly into place. So iv just got to dress it all up then fab the bracket for The altered window motor and test it all goes up and down ok that's next weeks job , here's a couple of pics for now cheers jd
-
A couple of the frame and window bolted in place
-
Cheers JD.
I'm lovin it, lovin it lovin it.
Tone
-
Nice work JD :)
-
Hi Guys,
We've popped over to Cardiff this weekend to see the sister-in-law and the next door neighbour has only gone and parked is Ferrari 812 in the street. It was dark when we got here, so will try and get a pic or two in the daylight. I have a feeling it is in the Abu Dhabi Blu that I have been considering, so this may make my mind up.
Tone
-
Hi tone ,guys ok update time ,I finished trimming the inner door skin panel then welded some lugs onto it so that can be bolted in and out as this needs to be removed if you ever need to change a window glass , once that was completed I made and fitted the brackets to attach the modified door card back on so that's the drivers side complete here's a pick cheers jd .
-
Cheers JD another great job.
Tone
-
Great work :)
-
Hi tone , guys. Well another good week , pasenger side window all fitted and working as it should , and the brackets made and fitted for the inner door card , I'll not bore you with a load of repeat pics so here's the finished job cheers jd
-
As always 1st class ;D
Mick
-
Hi tony , guys , this weeks progress , OK with the windows finished it was time to start fitting the front end, but before I could do this allthough it had been fitted( badly before) there were a lots of little jobs to do first, Ie move the battery and extend the wires to the rear of the car and secure it in place , next up was to trim the inner wings and move the fuse box,, secure the air condenser and move the evap bottle, so once I did all these I also made and fitted a bracket for the header tank and extended the hose and the wiring for this. Next up was to do the wiper move so with new brackets made I proceeded to fit this in the correct location ,job done so I thought lol this was when I found there was no live to the wipers and a dead short , on investigation I found some melted wires so with these replaced I thought it would be sorted but not so easy it still had a short so on checking to see what was and wasn't working on the car I also found the heater blower unit is not lighting up or working either so further investigation needed at a later date, so with the little jobs done on the front end it was time to line up and fit the front end , once it was all lined up and gaped it was time to bond it all together with the front bumper , wow now it looks like a Ferrari :) here's a few pics for now cheers jd
-
wipper motor move
-
And now she's taking shape starting to look like a Ferrari :)
-
Decision time tone .
Ok with the front end done it's time for me to build the lights up and I need to paint them before I can essemble them ,
What colour ?
-
Nice one JD,
Lovin the updates.
Right guys I have finally decided on a colour and it's going to be mmmmmm 'Blu Abu Dhabi'
Don't shout, I love red but just fancied something different.
Tone
-
Nothing wrong with being different
And that is a nice shade of Blue.
Can't wait to see it all shiney
Mick
-
Cheers Mick,
-
'Blu Abu Dhabi' would look amazing with smoked gold wheels.
-
Hi tone , guys ,this weeks update , again a busy week full of little jobs , first I removed the engine cover as the rear roof section needed bonding to the car , once that was done I moved on to the engine cover, as it was already off it was an ideal time to cut the hole in for the third brake light and bond some brackets inside to bolt the light to another couple of jobs off the list ,I then bonded some bracket on the side of the rear bumper so it can be bolted on securely,
Next up was to cut the holes in the bumper for the no plate lights I got at the breakers , here's a few pics for now .
Also here is a pic of the pink relay we need tone . Cheers jd
-
Rear bumper pics , and a pic off the rear light panel all preped ready for some primer
-
Pic of relay tone
-
Cheers JD
-
love that blue.....its what I would have had if not red
-
Coming soon lol , jd
-
Your car is going to look the nuts in that colour
A little jealous now haha
Mick
-
Hi tone , guys , a few more jobs ticked of the list this week, first I preped and primed the rear light panel and headlight units , then I laid some colour on the headlight buckets ( they look mint ) next I trimmed and fitted the headlight assembles together , so they just need all putting together and fit the lenses when I get back , here's a couple of pics cheers jd
-
Love that Blue
What are you using for the main beams JD
Mick
-
Cheers Guys,
Just got in from work having a quick browse through the forum and spotted the previous image of the blue 360 car and panicked because it looks a lot darker than the blu abu dhabi pearl (2013 colour). Looking at the headlights that are sprayed, it does look more similar
Looking good JD, Cheers.

I popped over to JD's on weds to finalise the car colour and for an update or two.
After a quick visit to the paint suppliers and looking at a lot of different shades of blues, we finally found the one. It is a pearlescent blue instead of metallic just like the cars in the photos.
As usual, JD was such a nice guy, very welcoming and very knowledgeable. We went for a bit of lunch down the local and I would definitely recommend the steak.
Cheers JD for a great day.
Tone
-
Love that colour Tone!
-
Hi tone , guys had a good day with tone last week and finally sorted the colour , also fitted the mesh to the rear light panel ,
Ok so been on with the wiring faults today , the wiper relay combined with a bad earth fixed the wiper fault ,
Next up was the heater panel I swapped it with Simons and turns out it's the head unit itself no display , also had to run a new live wire for the side lights but that's the wiring all sorted job done , here's a couple of pics for now
Here is a pic of the heater control unit needed tone ,cheers jd
-
I'm onto it JD
-
Sorry mick just seen the question , the main beam units were 100 mm spot lights off eBay then removed the glass , cheers jd
-
I can't wait to see this colour on the car. She is going to be stunning
No worries about the lights JD, they just looked different in the picture to what I had. Didn't know that were still available to buy
As always great work
Mick

Ok so been on with the wiring faults today , the wiper relay combined with a bad earth fixed the wiper fault ,
Can I ask about the wiper fault, my wiper (406 coupe) doesn't stop at the correct return (resting) position, am looking for clues.
Cheers
Brian
-
Hi Brian I'm not the best electrician but I would start with the wiper switch stork on the columb if they are not parking correctly , I think I may hav a spare one I'll check and pm you , cheers jd
-
Hi tone , guys , ok with the colour finally sorted it was time to repaint the headlights , once they were dry i fitted the side light and indicator units in place then I bonded on the backing box with the main and dip units , so they are now drying ready to fit the lenses and paint the backing boxes black . Hers a pic cheers jd

Loving the colour :P
Mick
-
that shade does look better, cheers JD
You heard Mick, stop teasing and get her painted. LOL
-
Hi tone, guys , time for a little update , I managed to make a start on the dash conversion before moving to France , I got all the dash cut out and sealed up all the openings so all the air was directed through the new vents , then made the new panels to take the new Audi air vents which are pretty close to the ferrari ones , next up was to key all the dash up and fibreglass every thing in place , here's a couple of pics so far ,
Ok so I'm back in England for a week and my target is to get the dash all finished up and the interior all back in , cheers jd
-
Great work as ever John, can you let me have the details on the supplier of the wheels you fitted to your car.
-
Cheers Jd,
updates always welcome.
Very concerned about Simon, he has not been available since coming to your house to collect his car, Have you got him locked up somewhere in your grounds. LOL
Tone

Hi tone , guys , well I had a very busy week some late nights but achieved my target , the dash is all finished , and the interior all back together , also I managed to get the Oem centre console all trimmed up and made the brackets for that , and today I started the bodywork ahead of schedule , made some good progress on the roof , I will be flat out on bodywork next time I'm back in England , here's a few pics cheers jd
-
All painted and fitted up
-
Cheers JD,
I really appreciate you making the extra time for the dash & console. Top job as always.

Mick
-
Hi Guys,
Just a quick question.
Looking to sort the steering wheel and have seen both Mickey's and Alex's but wondered if you used a universal 320mm Momo wheel
Cheers, Tone
-
I used a universal 245mm MOMO on the 360, looks and feels great, but IMHO a 330/335 would better still. I've tried various sized wheels by printing image to scale and superimposing the Thrustmaster centre, to check if the spokes line up (you should do this before buying the wheel). Not found a 320 sized wheel that lines up, but would be good if you could find one. I fancy a black suede momo with yellow stitching now. You should be able to keep the paddleshift, and get the start button and manettino to work (I did, except the manettino, but know someone who did that too), see here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnk8i5vfjL0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnk8i5vfjL0)
I've done this mod twice, on the 355 replica originally back in 2009 (using Momo EVO [not too keen on the chrome bits on that wheel ended up spraying them black], as here:
and on the 360 I have now, as follows:
Oh, and be sure to keep the thrusrmaster F430 pedals if you have them, I've fitted those chromed cast pedals to my 360 they look and feel great (and work well)
-
Cheers Brian,
Good idea, I will try that.
Cheers
Tone
-
Just checking out a 320mm wheel now, advertised on ebay, using a 23" monitor, increasing to actual size, and using this paper template to check:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oerULOn7fXE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oerULOn7fXE)
-
Cheers Brian,
I have ordered a 458 Thrustmaster, so will wait for it to arrive before trialling your methods and ordering a steering wheel.
Tone
-
Hi tone , guys , well I'm back in England for the final push to get her finished ,
Had a crazy busy day ,the car has had a final coat of primer and is now in guide coat and ready to block off and paint next week , the door panels and centre console are now painted in the silver and the mirrors and inside the bonnet and engine cover are painted in satin black , here are a few pics for now cheers jd
-
Engine cover , mirrors and the rear light panel all looking fab in satin black .
-
Wow,
I think the reality has just kicked in, she's coming home....
Top work JD
-
Hi tone ,guys well a bit of a slow couple of days , I fitted the centre console up and went to bolt it in the car which ended up being a bigger job, as I had never had the seats and console in all together with the seat belts bolted in , the problem being the Peugeot seat belts hit the console so I had to take everything back out fit 2 new universal seat belts ,problem solved all back together .
Next up the windsreen guy came and fitted the windscreen he rounded off the corners as usual so that looks sweet ,
Then I realised we had no interior mirror so off to the breakers to get one of them , so not as much done as I hoped but hope to get back on track in the next few days cheers jd , here a pic for now windsreen in
-
I can't wait to see this one in colour.
Keep the updates coming
Mick
-
Hi tone , guys , well a busy couple of days with some late nights but I'm getting back on target , I spent yesterday modifying the lower rear suspension arms to get rid of the negative camber created by dropping the ride height , then set up the rear suspension and did the rear brakes and handbrake ready for the mot , then started making the lower windsreen scuttle panel , next up was to paint the black on the lower part of the rear bumper and the top half of the engine cover, today iv been on with the front suspension and fitting new discs and pads and giving her a service , tomorrow it's time to start the rear defuzers and finish the scuttle panel . Here's a few pics for now cheers jd
-
Another one
-
Last couple for now

Top man JD,
Keep them coming. lol

Would you be good enough to tell us what trim you've used JD?
-
Hi John the windsreen side trims are from a rover 200 and a universal rubber trim is used for along the top , jd

What mirrors have you used for the Stradale look?
-
Hi john the mirrors are from a Yamaha R 1 I cut the rubber off the end turn them upside down then turn the mirror head the right way up then drill the 2 holes in the door fit in the correct place then bond the mirror to the extreme fibreglass base they supply , hope that helps cheers jd .
eBay about £20 a pair .

She's not quite finished yet but I did manage to get a couple of pics, although the front views were limited because I was too close to the wall.
JD promises he will take a photo or two when he pulls her out tomorrow. Sorry JD no pressure but it's out there now. LOL
Hopefully MOT'd tomorrow and then i'll be fetching her home.
Cheers

Ohhh I bet ur well chuffed Tone Christmas coming early
And she looks amazing love the blue
-
Cheers matey,
Chuffed is an under statement, I absolutely love it !!!!
It was definitely a good a day and yes it's very difficult to stop talking about it
To be honest if it wasn't for JD it would have been sold unfinished a few years ago but 'boy o boy' what a bad decision that would have been.

Simply Simply Loveleh ????????????
What a beaut
Just one little thing, a Stradale stripe would look great on that colour
Not that she isn't stunning
Be prepared for all the looks when you drive her home
Enjoy her
Mick
-
Cheers Mick.
We discussed the Stradale stripe earlier and also the colour of the wheels.
JD suggested the Scuderia stripes rather than the single Stradale. Originally I was going to have the gold stripes and matching wheels but suggestions of graphite grey have left me undecided.

I can't believe I have just come across this photo,
Can you notice the similarities, LOL? Mmm that colour looks familiar
The silver wheels also look well.

Looks fantastic. My view on wheels for that is smoked gold. But regardless, it looks very classy in the blue. Enjoy!
-
I cant stop looking at her. She is stunning. The colour is perfect. The workmanship from JD was perfect, as always.
You need to get this car to Stoneleigh. It will be swamped
I will be there to hopefully see her in the flesh
I second the smoked gold for the wheels, if you are changing the colour
Or the silver

@JD: i thought u where moving 2 france? whats gonna happen to chris' build?

Magnificent!
Amazing in that colour and what a lovely finish. Legendary work by JD.
BBS challenge stradale wheels would look good on her IMHO.
Hopefully get a chance to see her, maybe at a car meet or something.

Don't get gold wheels mate . It's not a impetza. But defo move away from black . :)
Looks great buddy

Well Guys,

Hi Guys,
Final discussions with JD, highlights there are still some items that need sorting but before I get on to them, I must say how amazing and convincing she sounds, what a difference having a genuine exhaust.
1. coolant leakage
2. front suspension is bottoming out and requires a different type - any advice?
3. windscreen wipers not parking correctly
4. tracking is a mile out
there are several cosmetic items that need tidying up but nothing major and definitely something even I can do. lol
Cheers

looks great mate . nice 1 :)
-
Looking great there!
I have the same issue as 3. wiper parking, let me know when you get a solution. What front coilovers do you have? I have the gaz adjustable ones, set 3/4 to stiffest setting and are fine.

Hi Brian,
I am not sure what type they are until I start stripping down in about two weeks time. They were already in place when I bought the car and JD is the only other person who properly fitted and adjusted them.
With regards to the wipers, that is something I will be sorting once I have taken the front end off. I'll keep you updated.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I 've found a few issues on 1st inspection,
1) I decided to have her out last weekend to take some photos of the suspension for Kev at extreme to take a look at and advise on a solution for the front suspension. Unfortunately, as you can see from the image, I noticed the wheel is not central to the wheel arch even though it appears the bottom arm has been modified.
.(http://s760902206.websitehome.co.uk/Extreme/front wheel.jpg)
2) I opened the drivers door and the passenger window came half way down, so I put that back up and the driver's window came down, I put that back up and it immediately came back down again. Hoping this just needs resetting but I do know I supplied JD with a window switch and then I had to supply another because he said it was faulty, so fingers crossed.
3) When pressing the fob to lock the car, the lights flash and all seems well but the doors are not actually locking. I think I will need to strip the door panels back off because I can hear something swinging and then clattering when I shut the door.

1/ wheel centrality in arch.
Wonder what it looks like if you lower the front coilovers a bit more, then let it settle for a while
2/ door windows. Mine sometimes have a life of their own (the drivers one).
An options is to disconnect the battery then let the system "learn" again. (worked on my passenger side)
3/ Door locks
Ive had those problems too, its fiddly to sort (and might need new mechamism), door card off, check lingages etc ensuring all moves freely. JD is the guru on this. Took me a couple of weekends messing and a new mechamism to sort mine. Lost count how many tmes I've had the door cards off!
-
Hi Tone
Have you had the full on suspension kit from Kev including the arm and strut tops?
As Brian said, try the reset?
Hmmm. Maybe the window has caught the inner locking tab, bending it so it doesn't work and pushing the bar off.
-
Cheers Guys,
The suspension kit is an original one from extreme but we believe it is an old design.
I just need to remove the front end and then I can take a good look and see what is going on.
Same with the windows / central locking, I will disconnect battery / reset and take it from there
Tone

Keep us informed.
I think you'll find the top of the strut (the three bolts on the car) hasn't been modified.
I'm sure it's 32mm it has to move.
-
Yeah, I think you may be right.
That
-
Have you made any headway on this, Tone?
-
I'm afraid being self employed just doesn't leave much free time.
I should be off Xmas day but don't think Mrs T will be happy If I start messing with the car.
Hopefully, next Sunday is the day.

MERRY XMAS to all

Merry Christmas, Tone, and all the best for the new year.

Well it's been a while since receiving the car back from Jd but things have been progressing very slowly in the background.
I have had many conversations with Kev (extreme) and ended up ordering a new front suspension because the one I had, was from the original design and required massive spacers. Also whilst removing stuff, I thought what the hell, I'll replace the drive shafts, drop links & tie rod ends.
The next thing i'm considering, is whether to fit air suspension or not? My concern is how low the car is and the everyday speed bumps.
Anybody got any thoughts and advice
Cheers

Hi Sparx so do you know if this guys are still making bodykits? I'm very interested in the CLK DTM one they selled a long time ago. Do you know what happened to them?
-
I don't think they are still in possession of the moulds but if i'm incorrect, i'm sure somebody will let you know.
Cheers

Air suspension is the way, so you can have it sitting nice when parked, raise up for speed humps, and a little bit for driving, you might only need to do the front, so its cheaper and less hassle than doing all 4 corners (the rear pigtail spring cups need modifiying). Alex did a great job with his.

Cheers, Brian.
I think I am going to fit the new suspension just on one side in the next couple of weeks and see if there is enough clearance for the stanceparts kit.
Cheers
