Owners club - Members only - Please read
« on: August 03, 2010, 07:31:12 AM »
I am starting to think it might be better to just turn this into a private owners club for people who own extreme cars, I'm getting a little fed up of coming on here seeing non constructive posts. If you haven't got something decent to say then don't say it !

I've banned two people already today.. I run this forum as a hobby and it's becoming beyond that at the moment.

Its a shame it has come to this, but i would be up for that too to be honest. I can understand people that are interested in the cars wanting to get info, but its getting daft now. I want to discuss how best to fix a light in position, or if anyone knows where the best place is to get a left handed thread long weight  ;D that fits the murci. I dont want to constantly fend off qns about what you get in a kit, why have we not had updates etc. etc.

I know extreme would rather have people going direct to them for qns like these too. So if you decide to make it an owners club only I cirtainly wouldnt have a problem!!  :o

I also agree as it takes too long to read through some of the crap to get to the many good bits.

Speaking as someone who is taking a LONG time doing a build (8 months for the donor prep so far! and i can't see me getting the kit this side of Christmas the way things are going :( ) being a member of these forums has kept my enthusiasm up in doing this project when i may have otherwise given up, as you guys have all been so friendly and helpful.

I know that when the XK club had these sort of problems what they did was to turn the majority of the forum into members only and just leave one or two 'open' areas.  This largely worked, although in this case I'm not sure it would 100% cure the headaches you're having?

problem is i as many other have seen valid posts removed
fourtunatly on my mobile i phone i get alerts on replies and new topics so i read them as they come up
when i log in in the evening i see them removed, or more to the point dont see them
censorship is dangerous thing
we can all read between the lines, those pointless posts by dna and dave jones trying to dis extreme are quickly bourne out, but the posts from buyers who cant get hold off or a reply from extreme should exist
for me let them post
if i think its cr*p ill ignore it
if its viagra then its cr*p, get a prettier misses an youll be fine!
my 2 cents

well I have read the site since it started but never joined it or posted on it or asked any one else to post on it but i do take offence at the last comment so i have joined just to say that we have never until this post said anything on this forum and im sure Drew and Steve can varify this by checking registerd isp details etc so if anyone thinks DNA have made any comments sorry guys this is the only one and its only being made to stress this point we have customers that post on here and its totaly up to them to tell it as they see it about us or Extreme or any other manufacturer We have had lots of slanging matches in the early days years ago with Extreme and hopefully all of that is behind us we both as manufacturers have our own customer base and of course we chase more than often the same custom but DNA feel that getting into open slaging matches or insulting underhand comments is not what we are about so thats from the horses mouth.

We try to get on with most manufacturers last time we were at an exhibition along side of Extreme was Newark 09 when we chated and got on ok and we speak to Dave Jones at every show.

totally agree with you there, and why would you.

THIS HAS BEEN SAID TIME AND TIME AGAIN. IF PEOPLE HAVE COMUNICATION PROBLEMS WITH EXTREME, THEN CHASE EXTREME, NOT THIS FORUM. EXTREME ARE RERELY ON HERE ANYWAY.

Hi, everyone, I agree with all of you, this forum must be for owners only so we can feedback each other on matters of the building of ours cars, if we have an issue with Extreme it´s not the way to solve it, we must deal direct to them, as far from  them we bought our kits and nobody else need to know nothing more.
Regards

I respect every one's opinion, but some of us read this forum every day and we do respect the effort and ideas some builders share. Though when sinners get punished, the righteous suffer as well, instead of cutting the serious one off, maybe you should introduce a charged fee to become a member.
