Finished 360!
« on: August 12, 2011, 06:29:52 PM »
Well, today I finally picked up my finished 360 from Kevin at Auto Transformations. They have done a truely fantastic job  ;D There are still a few little jobs I need to do before I get the MOT but it hopefully wont take too long. I also need to order some bigger spacers to push the wheels out further. Enjoy:-

This is the custom made 2 seat sonversion. The boot area still needs to be trimmed out as I'm not going for the fake engine look.

The door cards aren't finished yet as we realised that even though you cut the outer part of the door card down before adding the 'L' shaped new piece you actually need to cut the inner part of the door card in half, remove a few inches and then put back together again in order to maintain the correct shape at each end!

I've added a picture of their add below if anyone is interested in contacting them.

Nice car. How big wheel spacers do you need? For my spacers (60mm front, 70mm rear, change stud from 4x108 - 5x120) I pay 360 posted.

I need at least 100mm at the rear due to my wheel offset.

Looks excellent mate, not many people can actually turn these cars out like that.
Before you cut the doorcards, I have done them in a slightly different way you may be interested in. if you aren't retrimming the centre bit where the handle is this could be easier. Will post a pic this aft to see if you may prefer. The cutting and removing a few inches is a really fiddly job.

Very interested! I want to start the door cards on Tuesday so any guide or pics would be a massive help :-)

Sorry for no reply, only got my phone at the moment (as my pc has thrown yet another wobbler) and the phone doesn't like the little pic you have to assemble to send pm's.
Will take some more pics and try to upload them to this thread today.
Sounds crude, but basically rather than cut the middle bit and rejoin it you cut.the end off the middle bit. This then allows you to lay the fiberglass trim from extreme over the whole pug doorcard. Then you lay maskingtape over the centre section where there is a gap between the fiberglass and the leather and build up a fill in piece. The resulting lines don't flow as well as the extreme method, but if you aren't too good at stitching then I think it looks much more professional.

My shiny new spacers arrived today. 80mm at the front and they've made the world of difference:-

Just the wheel arches to do now.

Car flew through its MOT today. It needed a link bar and a CV boot but that was it. No other issues to report :-)
