What Engine Size?
« on: April 07, 2012, 12:12:29 AM »
Hi there everyone!

Been great looking around everywhere and seeing everyones builds.
I'm 20 and living in Leicester, UK. I am hoping to build a 430 replica as soon as funds allow. The car will be used for hire (recoup some of the monies spent) and for personal use.

One decision i need some help with; What size engine should I use?

I know the 3.0 V6 is a nice engine, powerful/fast etc however I have a friend who is a Peugeot technician that says they are quite high maintenance.
Now the 2.2 is going to be more economical and perhaps more reliable.

I'm not going to be driving the car flat out, it will be a long distance cruiser and a display car as well as being used for weddings etc.
Therefore the speed isn't an issue however noise is; How does the 2.2 sound when mated to a performance exhaust compared to the V6?

In a way I also like the idea of an automatic if the car is to be used as a bit of a GT car. Now do 2.2's come in auto's?
Has anyone rebuilt a 3.0v6? How easy is it?

Hopefully I can get some good answers to these questions!
Thankyou all in advanced

For the slight extra money go for the 3.0L
