Yep annoying little things.  Some stuck to the cover and actually lifted/popped leaving a wrinkled finish.  Maybe a lacquer would have been the best option before storage.....  You live and learn!

Is this a problem with the fibre glass or the paint process? Does this only happen if the cars are kept under a cover or are all these kits going to need a respray ever 3 years!

Its a kit car. Labour of love and cost. lol. Just keep it garaged and polish it regularly youll be ok.

Will do. The only prob is that my garage at home is too narrow for my 360. I was going to keep it under cover but think I'll move it to my secure unit and bringthe car out for weekends etc :-)

After I had my car respayed, I never covered it again, I kept it outside for a few weeks uncovered but it attracted far too much attention so I sourced a car storage facility until I moved to a house with a large garage. For the last 3+ years its kept in my garage. Its just not worth the risk.

Bonded.

Ready for Laquer.

hi mate,

noticed that you used the original pug seats in the 430, I wish to do the same, did you manage to lower them anyway?

Phils99 - the seat is not mounted in the car at the moment.  I intend to make a bespoke bracket, but not thought about it too much yet....!

You asked where to get the engine badges. Well on the genuine they are actually moulded into the covers And are a slightly chunkier script, but if you use the same badges that go on the bootlid it looks really good and saves you having to mess painting the top of the script silver. I will try to upload some pics of the one I have in.

It also has the original seats in, which do fit and I can drive it even though I'm 6ft 6 but it isn't comfy in the slightest. If it was for me I would have to change the seats to buckets and drop them right down.

This is how the badges look

I cut out the bottoms of the main cover inbetween the frame and spaced a piece of mesh about 10mm below. It was actually easier than cutting out the pieces to fit and I think looks more realistic. I also used 8 tubes inbetween the two intake bits and rather than putting them below I set them into the intakes and blended. More fiddly, but again I like the look.
Sorry for the hijack, will move the pics if you would prefer, just wanted to show you how the badges looked!

No problem.  It's nice to see other ways of doing it.  It also gives me some motivation to get it finished..
