the best shows to attend over the next few month
« on: July 09, 2009, 03:02:29 PM »
http://www.ultimatestreetcar.co.uk/ - 31st - 1st August - huge show, but full of spotty teens with Corsa's IMO. LOTS OF GALS THO.

http://www.staffscountyshowground.co.uk/welcom.htm               kit car on the 19th and 20th September

http://www.modifiedcars.com/car-show/event-info.asp?id=807 -  Donnington kitcar show and track day - 12th 13th September

or

www.traxshow.co.uk   - Silverstone - 6th September - 500 show stands, cars and gals! This is a good one to attend.

- various dates and locations. This is the big one and a good day out or a very good week end. Leave the wives at home for this one.  ;D

and just for Ashley

Some of these shows never have kit cars in them albeit the shows are classed as MODIFIED CARS, which I suppose is what we do.
Imagine if we can get enough cars together, lambos, ferraris and drive down amongst the wannabe's in their sooped up Glofs, Corsas and the like.
These guys spend twice as much on their cars than we do, so who's to say they wouldnt get interested in these kits?? I reckon Extreme would make a mint and its another avenue to explore.

It would be great, but there is a fine line about how many people know about the cars. Its not just the value of the car that you are replicating that affects the final value of the kits, but also how many other people know about them. Get a group of 100 people together & you can guarantee that at least 5-10 of them will know that you can get ferrari kits on the mr2. The maxpower & top gear coverage of the mr355 kits made them popular but at the same time the costs dropped as 1) there were more around & 2)the thrill of having a replica is tainted somewhat if everyone already knows its a kit.
This is one reason I needed the murci for the grooms car & cant use my 355, noone is going to pay to have something that several people in their wedding party know is a replica.

DNA put their car in Max power & I think it was the worst thing they could have done. It may have got them a short rush of sales, but now loads of people know about the 360 replicas.

Taking the hard top extreme 360 & the murcis to a max power type show would definetly get a lot of attention & be cool on the day, but the number of sales compared to the exposure it will get isnt high, and I think it will hurt our resale values in the future. There is also a whole load more work involved in our kits than smoothing off a golf bootlid or bolting a spoiler onto a saxo, so not sure how many would actually want to have their cars off the road for so long.

Obviously this is just my opinion, but I think we need to keep the cars relatively underground & stick to mostly exhibiting at the kit shows.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THERE, HAVIN THOUGHT ABOUT IT THAT WAY DREW.
I for one would not like to see my hard graft and efforts be rewarded with a car thats value has dropped below say 8k!!! what a piss off that would be.
